Otto, formerly of this city, but more recently of Youngstown, Ohio, died on March 26th in that city, according to word just received in this city yesterday by a daughter, Mrs. Charles Dosh of 705 Twentieth street. The Altoona relatives received no word of the death when it occurred. The information today came from a lawyer, who is engaged in settling the estate. It is explained in the letter that no word was sent by the widow, as the addresses of the Altoonans were unavailable. John W. Otto was aged 70 years and lived in Altoona until twelve years ago, when he went to Pittsburgh and then to Youngstown. He was prominent in the contracting business and had a plant at Twenty-fourth street. He served a term in city council. Surviving are his widow and one daughter, Mrs. Carrie Dosh of this city, and one son, George H. Otto of this city. Altoona Times, Altoona, Pa., Friday Morning, April 19, 1918
