Mrs. Margaret Otto, an Aged Lady of This City, Passes to Her Reward, Her Death Having Occurred Yesterday Morning - She was Greatly Respected and Had Numerous Friends. Mrs. Margaret Otto, widow of the late Henry Otto, and one of the oldest and best known residents of this city, died at her residence, 1815 Union avenue, about 9 o'clock yesterday morning. It is a singular coincidence that her husband died March 22, 1872, just nineteen years ago. Mrs. Otto, whose maiden name was Hanely, was born near East Sharpsburg, Blair (then Huntingdon) county, December 18, 1815, and was therefore 75 years, 3 months and 4 days of age at the time of her death, and during all these years she was a resident of this county. She was married to Henry Otto in 1832 and became the mother of nine children, of whom two preceded her to the other world - one a daughter who died in childhood, the other a son, Jacob, who was killed in front of Petersburg, Va., April 2, 1865, while in the union service. Those who survive are: Mrs. Jacob Hartle, Mrs. S. J. Dugan, Mrs. James T. Delozier, Henry, John W., and J. J., all of Altoona, and Mrs. John Beightel, of Taylor township. There is also a foster son, Mr. George Albright, of Philadelphia, twenty-four grandchildren and five great- grandchildren. Two sisters, Mrs. Daniel Glass, of this city, and Mrs. David Glass, of Portland, Oregon, and one brother, Christian Hanely, of Taylor township, also survive her. Mrs. Otto was a resident of Altoona since 1868, and a faithful member of the Church of God since childhood. The funeral cortege will leave the late residence at 2 o'clock to- morrow afternoon and proceed to the bethel of the Church of God, where suitable services will be held. Interment in Fairview cemetery. Morning Tribune, Altoona, Pa., Monday, March 23, 1891
