Palmer, died at her home, 113 East First avenue, Saturday at 4.30 p.m., after an illness of two years, aged 52 years, 5 month and 12 days. She had been in declining health for the past two years. She was a daughter of the late Captain James K. Hackett and was born in Carlisle, Cumberland county, July 18, 1853, and spent her early girlhood days there. May 15, 1877, she was married to John C. Palmer, to which union there were born six children, namely: Nellie B., wife of Harry Leisey of this city; Ira M. of St. Paul, Minn.; Martha A., wife of David T. Wagner of this city; Eva M. Morrison and G. E., at home, also John William, deceased. She is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. Hannah Gilbert of Rhodes, Ia., and Mrs. Jennie Hines of Anamosa, Ia. She was a member of the Second Presbyterian church and was a devout Christian, a loving wife and an affectionate mother. Funeral services will be held at the home on Tuesday at 2 p.m., Revs. Stiles and Irvine officiating. Interment in Oak Ridge cemetery. (Mechanicsburg and Carlisle papers please copy.)
