We are indebted to the Daily Herald for the following: Henry E. Park, brother of Mrs. John Dickson, of Sinking Valley, and David Dickson, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Dickson, came to Tyrone Sunday afternoon on bicycles and remained here till about half after 12 o'clock Monday, when they returned to the valley. On arriving at the home of J. H. McMullin in the valley, Mrs. McMullin being a sister of Park also, they stopped and took dinner. Leaving the McMullin place about 3 o'clock they went up the side of the mountain back of Skelp to the Dickson home. On arriving there Park had just got off his wheel and was standing beside it talking to Mrs. Dickson, and just as he was asking where John was fell to the ground. To his sister Park remarked as he fell: "Do not be scared," and he was dead in a few moments. He was subject to severe pains about the heart. He had eaten a hearty dinner and drank very freely of cold water at the McMullin home. This in connection with the predisposition to heart trouble evidently was the cause of death. Dr. C. M. Ewing was summoned, not that he could render any service to the dead man, but the family desired to have a physician examine him. Deceased was a native of Huntingdon county. He had reached the age of 31 years in June last. Five years ago he went to Illinois and worked on a farm. During this time he had worked very hard and concluded to come east and take a rest. He arrived here on the 24th of June, and was making the valley his temporary home. His parents are dead. Six brothers and seven sisters survive him, viz: Amon, of Tyrone; James, Mrs. John Dickson and Mrs. J. H. McMullin, of Sinking Valley; David, of Juniata; Mrs. Maggie Swisher, of Punxsutawney; Mrs. Jennie Bush, of Huntingdon; Clinton, of Mill Creek; Rody, of Aughwick Mills, Pa.; Isaac, of Maddensville, Huntingdon county; Nicholas, of Burnt Cabins; Mrs. Elsie O'Niel, of Six-Mile Run, and Mrs. Sue Waters, of Eagleton, Wis. The funeral will occur this afternoon. Services at the home of John Dickson at 1 o'clock by Rev. L. M. Lewis. Interment at Arch Spring cemetery. Morning Tribune, Altoona, Pa., Wednesday, July 12, 1899
