MRS. PARKER DEAD

  Mrs. Virginia Parker, colored, of Alley K and Berlin street, passed 
away yesterday morning from complications.  She was born at Columbia, 
South Carolina in March of 1853 and had been a resident of this place 
since 1915.  She was married in September of 1917 to Edward Parker, who 
survives with a number of children to a former marriage.  She also 
leaves one brother, Westley Coley, of Columbia, S.C.  Funeral and 
interment took place yesterday morning at 10 o'clock in charge of Rev. 
H. E. Newman, pastor of Bethel A.M.E. church.  Interment in Grand View 
cemetery.
