CHARLES S. PARSONS

Of 200 39th St., died in his home at 2:30 a.m. today, Sept. 21, 1974, after a 
brief illness.  He retired from the city highway department in 1960 after 41 
years of service.  Mr. Parsons was born Aug. 12, 1890, in Altoona, son of 
Rodrick and Sarah (Slemmer) Parsons, and married Mabel F. Lewis on Dec. 31, 
1910.  Surviving are his wife, three children, Charles A., of Altoona, 
Merrill of San Bernardino, Calif., and Mrs. Sarah Elizabeth Rogers, at home; 
six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, a brother and a sister, Ira D. 
Parsons and Mrs. Margaret Scheeler, both of Altoona.  Mr. Parsons was a 
member of the Second Avenue United Methodist Church.  Friends will be 
received in the C. Ray Myers Funeral Home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. 
tomorrow.
