Samuel J. Parsons 

  Mr. Samuel J. Parsons, age 85, of 253 Chaucer Drive, Irwin and a 
former Tyrone resident died Monday, August 8, 2005 at Mercy Jeannette 
Hospital.
  He was born February 16, 1920 in Tyrone, the son of Samuel J. Sr. and 
Gussie Mease Parsons Dalby. He was married to the former Lois M. 
"Sally" Phillips who survives. Also surviving is a daughter, Christine 
A., wife of Dr. David A. Belvedere of Poland, OH and three 
grandchildren, Regina, Andrew and Julia.
  He was a graduate of Tyrone High School class of 1938. He retired as 
an electrical engineer from Westinghouse Electric Corporation, East 
Pittsburgh. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Irwin.
  Funeral services for Mr. Samuel J. Parsons was held at the First 
Presbyterian Church of Irwin with interment in Irwin Union Cemetery.
