MRS. SARAH J. PARSONS
Of 314 Maple avenue, died at 9.35 o'clock last evening in Mercy hospital where
she was admitted Dec. 27, after an extended illness. She was born in Martinsburg
on July 9, 1868, a daughter o Upton and Mary (Hann) Shank. Her husband, Harry H.
Parsons, died in 1935. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Chester Brunner, and
five sons, Ira J., Oscar E., William S., Harry L., and George E., all of
Altoona, 15 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, two sisters and one brother,
Mrs. Charles Gates of Annapolis, Md., Mrs. Charles Farrell of Baltimore, Md.,
and Clarence Shank of Hollidaysburg. Mrs. Parsons was a member of the Calvary
Baptist church where she served for many years as a teacher in the Sunday school
and as a leader of the Whosoever Prayer group. Friends will be received at the
Axe funeral home after 7 o'clock this evening.
