EMMA PATTON Daughter of George W., deceased, and Mrs. Susan Hawksworth, of 809 Lexington avenue, died at 7 o'clock last night at the Presbyterian hospital, Philadelphia. She had been visiting her mother here since last June, and on September 16 was compelled to take her bed on account of sickness. On October 1, she was removed to Philadelphia, where everything possible was done to save her life, but she passed into the great beyond at the hour above mentioned. She bore her suffering with a Christian fortitude and was ever ready to meet her creator. Deceased was born in Lebanon, August 24, 1834, but resided in this city the greater part of her life. She was married in 1861 to Hon. George Patton, and resided here until 1875, when she removed to Philadelphia with her husband. Mr. Patton died some seventeen years ago and since then she made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Harold Freeman, in Philadelphia. She was a good Christian woman and a member of the Lutheran church. During her residence here, she was connected with the First Lutheran church and took an active interest in all church and Sunday school work. She was a loving mother and was held in the highest esteem by all who knew her. She is survived by her mother, three brothers, Augustus, George and William Hawksworth, of this city; two sisters, Mrs. Ella Paul, of Altoona, and Mrs. F. B. Stewart, of Washington, D.C. She is also survived by three sons, T. Blair Patton, of Huntingdon; William Patton, of Greensburg, and one daughter, Mrs. Harold Freeman, of Philadelphia.
