Patton, Tyrone Meat Packer, Dies William Thomas Patton, aged 70, owner of the Patton Meat Packing company, Tyrone, died of a heart attack at 8.10 o'clock last night at the office of Justice of Peace Emanuel E. Rodgers at 27 West Eleventh street, Tyrone, Deputy Coroner Edgar G. Walls said. Mr. Patton, who resided at 104 East Tenth street, Tyrone, had gone to Justice Rodgers' office as a visitor and had been there only a few minutes when he suffered the fatal attack. Born in Port Matilda Sept. 30, 1877, he was the son of William T. and Rachel Jane (Hamler) Patton. He married Maggie Reese, who preceded him in death. A daughter, Mrs. Veta Williams of Tyrone, survives. A son, Roy, who was associated with him in business, died three years ago and a daughter, Hazel, died in infancy. Two grandchildren, Mrs. Hazel Gearhart of Clearfield and Samuel Patton, stationed with the armed forces at Fort Dix, N.J., who are the children of the late Roy Patton, and one great-grandchild, Roy Gearhart, also survive. One grandson, William T. Williams, was killed during the war while crossing from India to China. Mr. Patton started the Patton Meat Packing company in Tyrone in 1929 and retired about a year ago.
