He was born in Lancaster on December 19, 1839, but lived in Connellsville for twenty-three years. In the late war he served in Company A, 205th Regiment, under Captain Gwinner. For twenty-four years past he had been a member of the First Lutheran church of this city. His wife and nine children survive him, as follows: Mary M., wife of William Brotherton; Elizabeth M., wife of John Lockard, both of Altoona; there are at home Alice M., Edith B., William H., George W., Lydawn, Nelly G., Bessie M.; one brother and one sister, William Peck of Connellsville, and Mrs. Lydia Fickes, of Altoona. The remains of Mr. Peck arrived from Harrisburg last night on fast line and were taken to his late home. The interment will take place Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Funeral services at the church in Connellsville, interment in Connellsville cemetery. All friends of the deceased are respectfully invited. Altoona Mirror, February 11, 1895
