PENTZ A retired employee of the Altoona works of the Pennsylvania Railroad, died at 5:30 o'clock this morning after a brief illness at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Regis Gority of 1427 Twenty-first avenue with whom he resided. Mr. Pentz was born Nov. 28, 1861, at Greencastle, the son of Henry and Elizabeth (Phatcher) Pentz, and he resided in Altoona the greater part of his life. He was employed in the works blacksmith shops for a period of forty-seven years before his retirement. His wife, Mrs. Zadie (Hartzell) Pentz, preceded him in death twenty-nine years ago. He is survived by six daughters and one son, as follows: Mrs. John Williams, of Mt. Union; Mrs. William Graham of Akron, Ohio; Mrs. Chalmers Cass, of Marietta, Ohio; Mrs. George Giarh [Giarth?] of Maryland; and Mrs. Gority and Miss Mary at home, and Charles H. Pentz of this city. He is also survived by one brother David of Harrisburg, 29 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. Eight of his grandchildren are in the Armed Forces. He was a member of the Second United Brethren Church. Friends will be received at the Axe Funeral Home after noon on Sunday. PENTZ - funeral of Charles M. Pentz late of 1427 Twenty-first avenue will be held on Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Axe Funeral Home in charge of Rev. F. W. Davis. Interment will be made in Rose Hill Cemetery.
