Perchy, a retired Pennsy employ, [sic] Civil war veteran and widely known resident of the city, died at 7:55 o'clock last evening at the home of his son, Harry W. Perchy, of 221 East Crawford avenue, of Bright's disease. Mr. Perchy was born in Huntingdon county on June 18, 1840 and had been employed by the Pennsy since he was 16 years of age. He served several enlistments in the Union army. Fourteen years ago he was retired by the Pennsy and had been ill for the past two years. He was married to Lizzie Newman, on November 2, 1861. His wife died fifteen years ago. He was a Lutheran by faith and was a member of Verandah lodge, No. 532, I. O. O. F., and Post 62, G. A. R. One son, Harry W. Perchy, survives with seven grandchildren. Funeral services will occur on Monday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, followed by interment in Fairview cemetery.
