Peterson, 72, of RD Hollidaysburg, formerly of Spruce Creek, died April 10, 2007 at Altoona Regional Health Systems following an extended illness. He was born August 21, 1934 in Hollidaysburg, the son of Ethel (Free) and Carl A. Peterson. He was married to Eleanor L. (Wheland) Peterson on August 12, 1955 in Hollidaysburg. She died in 1993. Mr. Peterson is survived by four sons: Donald L. and wife Sandy of Altoona, Jeffrey L. and wife Cindy of Spruce Creek, Dennis C. of Warriors Mark and Scott L. and wife Kelly of Altoona; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and a sister Helen of Duncansville. He was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy. Mr. Peterson was a member of Phoenix Volunteer Fire Company of Hollidaysburg, Army National Guard and the Warriors Mark-Franklin Volunteer Fire Company Fire Police. He was employed by the Penn State University, retiring in 1994 following 22 years service. A memorial service will be held Friday, April 13, 2007 at 3 p.m. at Cox Funeral Home, Warriors Mark with Pastor Tim Miller officiating. Place of burial will be Seven Stars Cemetery, Franklin Township. Friends will be received at the Cox Funeral Home on Friday from 1 p.m. until time of services at 3 p.m. There will be no public viewing. Tyrone Daily Herald, April 11, 2007
