Pfeffer, aged 50, of 615 Fifth avenue, who took office as alderman of the Eighth ward only last Jan. 3, died at 5.50 o'clock this morning at the Altoona hospital after one week's illness. He was admitted to the hospital on Wednesday. He was born in Altoona on Aug. 26, 1887, a son of Joseph and Catherine Pfeffer, and had spent his entire life here. Learning the trade of barber he operated a barber shop for some years, later becoming constable of the Eighth ward, serving in that capacity for the past six years. Last fall Mr. Pfeffer was the successful candidate of the Republican party for the office of alderman in the ward and he had established his office at Fifth avenue and Fourth street. On Sept. 20, 1909, he married Miss Gertrude Weidlich. Surviving are his wife, one son and one daughter, Eleanor and Elwood Pfeffer, his mother and the following brothers and sisters: George Pfeffer, Mrs. Catherine Carlin, William, Albert, Mrs. Molly Musselman and Fred Pfeffer, all of the city. His father died last April 29. Alderman Pfeffer was a member of St. Mark's Catholic church. The body may be viewed at the home. PFEFFER - The funeral of Alderman Frank J. Pfeffer of 615 5th Ave. will be held Monday morning with requiem mass at 9 o'clock in St. Mark's church. Interment in Calvary cemetery. The body may be viewed at the home.
