PHILLIPS Died last evening at 9.20 o'clock at the home of her son, Reuben Phillips of 1357 Blair avenue, Tyrone. She was born May 31, 1886, at Frenchville, the daughter of Reuben and Cecelia (Plubel) Maurer, and was married Sept. 20, 1905, at Tyrone to John A. Phillips, who died Sept. 16, 1938. Surviving are three sons and one daughter, William, Reuben and Irvin Phillips of Tyrone and Mrs. Roy Carper of Niagara Falls; three brothers, Godfrey Maurer of Julian, Norman of Altoona and W. Olie of Akron, O.; five sisters, Mrs. Robert Morgan of Tyrone, Mrs. Howard Speer of Milesburg, Mrs. J. D. Neidgh of State College, Mrs. Mary Broderick of Detroit, Mich., and Mrs. James Robenholt of Sandy Ridge; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was a member of the First Methodist church, Tyrone. Friends will be received at the home after 7 o'clock this evening. Altoona Mirror, Altoona, Pa., Wednesday, October 29, 1947 Lydia Belle Phillips Mrs. Lydia Belle Phillips, 60, of Tyrone, former Centre County resident, died in Tyrone Tuesday following an illness of seven months' duration. She was the daughter of Reuben and Cecelia (Plubel) Maurer. She is survived by four children and by five sisters and a brother including Mrs. Howard Spear of Milesburg, Mrs. J. D. Neidigh of State College RD, and Godfrey J. Maurer of Julian. Funeral services will be held at the Reuben Phillips home in Tyrone tomorrow at 2 p.m. Altoona Tribune, Altoona, Pa., [Thursday, October 30, 1947]
