His Death at His Home in this City Last Night. At thirty-five minutes past 9 o'clock last night Charles N. Pimlott died at his residence, No. 1311 Twelfth avenue, after an illness from a complication of diseases, which extended over a period of several months. Mr. Pimlott was one of Altoona's best citizens. Genial in his manner he won the friendship and esteem of all with whom he came in contact. His illness caused him much bodily suffering and it was of that deceptive character which led many of his friends to believe that he would recover. On Thursday and Friday of last week he was able to sit up in bed and converse with members of his family. On Saturday, however, he grew worse and lapsed into a state of unconsciousness, from which he could not be roused any length of time. The end came peacefully and the spirit returned to its Maker. Mr. Pimlott was in the 53 year of his age and was for years a resident of Altoona. He was a tinner by occupation and at it worked in the railroad company shops here. About 1876 he was appointed foreman of the shop, a position he held at the time of his death. He was greatly liked by the men under him, and they will learn with sadness of his demise. He was prominent in Masonic circles, being a member of Mountain lodge 281, and also of Mountain commandery No. 10, Knights Templar. He was a trustee when the Masonic Temple was erected, and no member took more interest or worked more energetically toward the successful erecting of the building than did he. He was also a charter member of Mountain City lodge No. 837, Independent Order of Odd Fellows, and was a past grand. In politics Mr. Pimlott was a democrat. He served as a member of the Altoona school board on term some years ago. He was also nominated in 1890 for the same office but was defeated. His wife survives him, and with several children is left to mourn one who was always a loving husband and father. Two sisters and one brother also survive. The funeral arrangements have not yet been completed. Morning Tribune, Altoona, Pa., Monday, January 26, 1891 Local Brevities. The funeral of Charles N. Pimlott will leave his late residence, 1311 Twelfth avenue, Wednesday afternoon at half-past 2 o'clock and proceed to St. Luke's Protestant Episcopal church, where the services will be held. Interment in Oak Ridge cemetery. Morning Tribune, Altoona, Pa., Tuesday, January 27, 1891
