B. Piper, died at the home of her son, J. E. Piper, Juniata, yesterday at three o'clock following an extended illness. Mrs. Piper was a former resident of Tyrone, moving to Altoona a number of years ago following the death of her husband who was a well- known Tyrone physician for a period of nearly fifty years. Funeral services will be held in the First Presbyterian church, Tyrone, on Saturday afternoon, at 2.30 o'clock, followed by burial in Grandview Cemetery. The body may be viewed at the church from 1.30 o'clock Saturday, until the time of the funeral services. Tyrone Daily Herald, Tyrone, Pa., Thursday, January 7, 1937 MRS. MARY ELIZABETH PIPER Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Piper, widow of Dr. H. B. Piper and a resident of Tyrone for many years, died at 3:40 o'clock Wednesday afternoon, at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. J. E, Piper, 110 Tenth Avenue, Juniata. Mrs. Piper was born at Midway, Chester county, on June 21, 1842, a daughter of Joseph F. and Katherine S. Gibson. She had resided for sixty years in Tyrone, where Dr. Piper died in 1895, after practicing here for a number of years. Surviving are three sons, J. E. Piper of Juniata, Harry A. Piper of Swarthmore and William G. Piper of Wilmington, Del.; ten grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Mrs. Piper was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Mrs. Piper was one of the oldest members of the First Presbyterian Church of Tyrone, and one of the organizers of The Ladies Aid Society of the church and served as president of the organization. The body may be viewed at the Mauk & Yates funeral home from today until Saturday noon, when it will be removed to the First Presbyterian church at Tyrone where funeral services will be held at 2:30 o'clock Saturday afternoon; with Rev.
