Plempel died yesterday morning at 2:30 o'clock at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. Peter Thompson, at Hillcrest, Hollidaysburg, of injuries sustained in a fall on Tuesday last, at her home. Mrs. Plempel was a daughter of Benjamin, deceased, and Eliza Duganne and was born at Tyrone fifty-eight years ago. She was a consistent member of the Lutheran church at Newry and was a highly esteemed Christian woman. She formerly resided in Newry. Mrs. Plempel's husband preceded her to the grave about one year ago. She is survived by her mother and the following children: Mrs. Peter Thompson, of Hollidaysburg; Miss May Plempel, a trained nurse at Camp Severs, S.C.; and a son, Alfred Plempel, of Altoona; also by one brother, Joseph, of Newry, and the following sisters: Mrs. Ambrose Leonard, Mrs. Charles Mattern and Miss Julia Duganne, all of Hollidaysburg; Mrs. D. C. McCollough and Mrs. G. M. Smith, both of Altoona, and Mrs. S. B. Conrad, of Gardner, Pa. Altoona Times, Altoona, Pa., Saturday Morning, October 19, 1918
