All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/blair/ ________________________________________________ ALBERT PLETCHER Of Greenwood, a veteran of the first World war, died in the veterans' hospital, Bronx, N.Y., Sunday at 8.30 p.m. He was born Sept. 27, 1893, in Somerset county, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Abram Pletcher. He was employed as a carbuilder in the Pennsylvania railroad passenger car shops here. Surviving are the wife, Mrs. Emma Pletcher; seven children, Albert, jr., and Paul, at home, Mrs. Willard Wilsey of Amarillo, Tex., Genevieve of Mill Hall, Elsie, Vera and Patricia, at home; one grandson; two brothers, George and William Pletcher of Somerset, and four sisters, Mrs. Nora Berkebile of Stoyestown, Mrs. Anna Case of Canada, Mrs. Emma Walter of Friedens and Mrs. Alma Baldwin of Johnstown. Mr. Pletcher was a member of the Nazarene church and Charles R. Rowan post, No. 228, American Legion. The body may be viewed at the Mauk & Yates funeral home after noon Wednesday. PLETCHER - Funeral services for Albert Pletcher of Greenwood will be conducted Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Mauk and Yates funeral home, in charge of Rev. George Riggs. Interment in the soldiers' memorial plot, Grandview cemetery. The body may be viewed at the funeral home after noon Wednesday. Altoona Mirror, January 19, 1943
