At 9 o'clock on Friday evening Samuel Pollett breathed his last at his home on Eleventh avenue and Tenth street. For nearly thirty years past Mr. Pollett has been a resident of Altoona, and during that time an employe of the Pennsylvania Railroad Company. He it was who built the first shop for the railroad company, and also many other public buildings. A few months since he received a severe sprain in the company's wheel shop, and ever since that time has been gradually failing. His death was a peaceful one, and he went into his last, long sleep, surrounded by his family. The funeral took place yesterday afternoon, and was very largely attended. The funeral discourse was delivered by Rev. Mr. Miles, of the First Baptist Church. Morning Tribune, Altoona, Pa., Monday, May 3, 1880
