Poorman, 82, of RR 2, Tyrone, died Tuesday morning, Aug. 8, 2006 at Epworth Manor, Tyrone. She was born Sept. 4, 1923 in Altoona, a daughter of the late Robert and Ruth E. (Dibert) Harten. She married Clair N. Poorman on Oct. 10, 1942 in Cumberland, MD. He died June 12, 1979. Mrs. Poorman is survived by sons: Clair N. "Skip", Jr. and wife, Arlene of RR 2 Tyrone and Melvin A. and wife, Mickey of Altoona; daughters: Nancy F. Hill and husband, Terry and Joy S. Poorman, all of Tyrone RR 2; grandchildren: Tammie Connolly, Patrick Hill, Craig Hill, Dwayne Poorman, Tiffany Cover, Tina Riley, Trey Poorman and Michael Poorman and 14 great grandchildren; brothers: Robert W. of Juniata Gap and James T. of Hollidaysburg; sisters: Bertha George of Mt. Joy and Mary Jane Miller of McKeesport. She was preceded in death by brother, Donald E. and sister, Ethel I. Hunter. Mrs. Poorman attended Olivet Baptist Church, Bellwood. She enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening. Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 10 at Jon C. Russin Funeral Home, Bellwood. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Aug. 11, 2006 at the funeral home with Rev. Myron Weiand officiating. Interment will be at Blair Memorial Park, Antis Township.
