M. BERNADINE POPE

  Mrs. Pope, 64, of Woodbury RD died unexpectedly Sunday, May 15, 1983, 
while camping near McVeytown.
  Known as Bernie, she was born June 19, 1918, in Roaring Spring, the 
daughter of Joseph H. and Viola O. (Helsel) Dodson, and was twice 
married, first to Robert W. Jones, then on Dec. 4, 1979, in Altoona, to 
Ernest Pope.
  Surviving are her husband, four children: Robert Jones of Wilmington, 
Del.; Mrs. Rhue Davis of New Paris, Neil Jones of East Freedom and Mrs. 
Nancy Carter of Woodbury; three stepchildren: David Pope and Ernie Pope 
of Altoona and Richard Pope of Long Beach, Calif.; 14 grandchildren and 
a great-grandson.
  Also surviving are a sister and two brothers: Mrs. Beatrice Smith of 
East Freedom, Harry of Altoona and Charles of Washington, D.C.
  Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in the 
J. Gary Thompson Funeral Home, Roaring Spring.

POPE - Services for M. Bernadine Pope of Woodbury RD will be held at 11 
a.m. Thursday in the Blair Memorial Park Chapel, Bellwood, by Arthur 
Freet. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday 
in the J. Gary Thompson Funeral Home, Roaring Spring.
