Porta, 63, of Hampden Twp., died Monday, May 3, 2004 in his home. He was born August 12, 1940 in Altoona, PA, a son of the late Paul E. and Adeline I. Luther Porta. He was a retired Professional Engineer with PP&L; served with the PA National Guard 104 Armored Cavalry, Carlisle;a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church, Camp Hill; Our Lady of Queenship Council Knights of Columbus, Mechanicsburg, where he was a 4th Degree Knight, the Mechanicsburg and Carlisle Sportsman's Clubs and the Mechanicsburg Teacher's Golf League. Surviving are his wife, Rosemary A. Schneiderbauer Porta; a son, John E. Porta of Phoenixville, PA; two daughters, Annette M. McHugh of Newark, DE and Carolyn A. Werner of Lebanon; two brothers, Donald J. Porta of Altoona and Richard T. Porta of Mechanicsburg; a sister Connie L. Burket of Mechanicsburg and grandchildren, Kyle, Ryan, Christopher, Kaitlyn, Allison and Elizabeth. Mass of Christian Burial will be concelebrated at 10 a.m. on Friday at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, Camp Hill. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday in Malpezzi Funeral Home, Mechanicsburg with a prayer service at 8:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Central PA, P.O. Box 266, Enola, PA 17025, Good Shepherd Catholic Church Building Fund, 3435 Trindle Road, Camp Hill, PA 17011 or to Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center at Johns Hopkins, 401 N.
