MRS. MARY PORTA
Of 2905 Sixth avenue, widow of Karl Porta, died at her home at 12.50 o'clock
this morning following an extended illness. She was born May 31, 1868, a
daughter of Peter and Barbara (Quirin) Wolf. Surviving are the following
children and step-children: Mrs. Rose Schraf, Mrs. Catherine Burket, Mrs. Helen
Keller, Louis Porta, Stephen Porta, and Mrs. Stephen Banholtzer, all of Altoona,
Herman of Warriors Mark, Anthony of Detroit, Carl, Jacob and Nicholas, all of
Altoona; Peter of Butler, Mrs. Mary Smith of New York city and Mrs. Anna Logue
of Philadelphia; two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Hoelzle of Altoona and Mrs.
Margaret Campbell of Pittsburgh; 44 grandchildren and 47 great-grandchildren.
She was a a member of St. Mary's Catholic church. Mrs. Porta will repose at the
V. L. Stevens funeral home.
