A very sad and sorrowful household is that of Mr. Carl Porter, at No. 2832 Sixth avenue, to-day. The death of his beloved wife, Mrs. Barbara Porter, occurred last evening at 5.30 o'clock, and the circumstances are very distressing, eleven children comprising the household, the oldest being 15 years of age. Four of the children are down with typhoid fever, the oldest being convalescent, the mother dying with the disease in the 36th year of her age. The funeral takes place from St. Mary's Catholic church but the time is to be announced. Mr. Porter has the sympathy of all in this trying hour. He is a heater in the Allegheny rolling mill and has been working all day, caring for his stricken family at night. Altoona Times, Altoona, Pa., November 26, 1887 Additional Comments: a.k.a.
