POTE Of 852 Twenty-fifth street, manager of the Keystone Coal & Coke company and an active member of the Ward Avenue Presbyterian church, died at his home at 4.45 o'clock yesterday morning after several weeks' illness. He was born at Baker Summit on Feb. 2, 1864, a son of Adam and Nancy (Zook) Pote. Mr. Pote was twice married, his first wife, Miss Etta Wertz of Bedford, dying in 1900. On May 14, 1924, he married Mrs. Clara Gabriel Swartz, who survives, along with one brother and one sister, Adam of Baker Summit and Mrs. Catherine Cowen of Roaring Spring, and a number of nieces and nephews in Baker Summit and Roaring Spring. Mr. Pote had been a member of the Ward Avenue Presbyterian church for the past twenty-seven years and at the time of his death was an elder, also having served as a deacon, treasurer, a teacher in the Sunday school and a member of the choir. In his early life he was engaged in the mercantile business in Baker Summit, later going to Washington where he was employed in the bureau of engraving. For the past twenty-eight years he had been manager of the Keystone company. Friends are being received at the Laughlin funeral home. POTE - The Funeral cortege of Charles Z. Pote of 852 Twenty-fifth street will leave the Laughlin funeral home at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon for the Holsinger Brethren church at Baker Summit where funeral services will be conducted by Rev. A.W. Wright, of the Ward Avenue Presbyterian church. Interment in the Holsinger cemetery. Friends are being received at the Laughlin funeral home.
