He was a son of J. V. and Rebecca (Smeltzer) Pote and was born at Baker's Summit Nov. 11, 1870. He was united in marriage with Nannie Stiffler Oct. 7, 1897, who survives, with two daughters and one son, Marie Pote of New Enterprise, Mrs. Sherwood Miller and Mearle G. Pote, both of Roaring Spring; one grandson, Kenneth Pote of Roaring Spring, and these brothers and sisters: Mrs. Irene Myers, Mrs. Charles Kyler and Emory A. Pote, all of Bakers Summit, Ivan R. Pote, Mrs. Charles Mock, Mrs. H. J. Stephens and Mrs. Arthur Dick, all of Roaring Spring. Mr. Pote was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran church at Bakers Summit. Friends are being received at the home. POTE - Funeral services for Grant S. Pote of 623 Sugar street, Roaring Spring, will be conducted Sunday afternoon at 2.45 o'clock in the Holsinger Church of the Brethren at Bakers Summit in charge of his pastor, Rev. Theodore Scheifele assisted by Rev. I. L. Roland of New Paris. Interment in the Holsinger cemetery. Friends are being received at the home. Altoona Mirror, January 15, 1943
