Yesterday morning this community was shocked with the intelligence of the sudden decease of Mrs. Catharine Potter, widow of the late George Potter. At a few minutes before one o'clock this estimable lady breathed her last. She had been ill but a short time, and her sickness was not thought to be serious. Deceased was born in Frederick county, Maryland, on the 15th of September, 1811. Six of her children have already died, while five sons and two daughters survive her. She was a consistent member of the Lutheran Church. Relations in the west have been telegraphed the intelligence, and the date of the funeral will depend upon their arrival here.
