POWERS Owner of city gutter firm dies David L. Powers, 52, of Box 42, Hollidaysburg RD 2, died at 7 a.m. Sunday. Feb. 20, 1983, in Altoona Hospital, after an extended illness. Mr. Powers was employed as district sales manager of Sears Roebuck and Co. He was also owner of Keystone Gutter Works of Altoona. He was born May 23, 1930, in Rome, N.Y., the son of Donald and Marguerite (MacDonald) Powers, and June 20, 1952, in Dallas, Texas, married Florene B. Bradford. Surviving are his wife, four daughters: Anita Leete of Irving, Texas; Phyllis of Annandale, Va.; Mrs. Pamela Curley of Springfield, Va., and Mrs. Patricia Miller of Altoona, and five grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers: Robert of Utica, N.Y., and Donald of Richardson, Texas. Mr. Powers was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Hollidaysburg. He was a Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Elks of Altoona, Miss Pennsylvania Scholarship Pageant, for which he was a certified pageant judge; member of Miss Pennsylvania scholarship committee, Altoona Area Chamber of Commerce, Heidelberg Country Club and Ironmasters Country Club. Mr. Powers was a 1947 graduate of Waterville High School, Waterville. N.Y., and attended Utica College of New York. Friends will be received from 8 to 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in Plank & Stitt Funeral Home, Hollidaysburg. POWERS - The funeral of David L. Powers of Box 42, Hollidaysburg RD 2, will he held with a mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. Mary's Catholic Church, Hollidaysburg, by the Rev. John Vago. The body may be viewed at the Plank & Stitt Funeral Home Inc., Hollidaysburg, from 8 to 9:30 a.m. Tuesday. The family will not be present at that time; however, they will receive friends at their residence on Monday afternoon and evening and following the mass of Christian burial on Tuesday. Private interment will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to AMED, American Cancer Society or American Heart Association.
