MARY VIRGINIA POWERS Mrs. Mary Virginia Powers, of 911 Fourth avenue, died yesterday morning at 5 o'clock at the Altoona hospital as the result of burns sustained at her home Tuesday evening, November 29, when a quantity of hot fat caught fire and set her clothing ablaze. She was severely burned from the neck down, parts of her breast being horribly seared. She was a daughter of Robert (deceased) and Sarah Ritchie Rodgers, and was born in Altoona June 15, 1890. She married John A. Powers, a well known Pennsylvania railroad employe, on October 20, 1915, and is survived by her husband and one daughter, Margaret Mary, her mother, and three brothers, Robert, Hugh and Edward, all of Altoona. She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Roman Catholic church. The funeral services will be conducted from the church this morning at 9 o'clock with interment following in St. John's cemetery.
