PRESSEL DIES AT HOSPITAL Lloyd Henry Pressel, aged 61, residing at 3210 West Chestnut avenue, a prominent resident of the Ninth ward, died at the Altoona hospital at 1.15 o'clock this afternoon, following a brief illness. He was taken ill the latter part of last week, his ailment being diagnosed as appendicitis and on Friday he underwent an operation at the hospital. Pneumonia developed and this was given as the direct cause of his death. Mr. Pressel had been a resident of Altoona for about twenty-five years. He came to the city from Eldorado where he had been engaged in trucking. Prior to that he had engaged in farming near Roaring Spring. In recent years Mr. Pressel conducted an automobile service station at 2310 Ninth avenue and also had engaged in contract hauling work, furnishing stone and other material for much of the street and other improvement work in and about the city. He was twice married, the second time to Mrs. Lottie Shew, who survives together with three daughters and one step-son: Mrs. Verna Ellenberger of near Eldorado; Mrs. Laura McMonigal of Harrisburg; Mrs. Grace McClellan of this city and Paul Shew, also of this city. Mr. Pressel was a member of the Temple Lutheran church. One brother, Harry Pressel, of Lakemont Terrace, also survives. Altoona Mirror, Monday, 27 July 1925 FUNERAL NOTICE. The funeral services for Lloyd H. Pressel of 2310 West Chestnut avenue will be held at the house tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock followed by interment in Greenlawn cemetery in Roaring Spring. In addition to his immediate family Mr. Pressel is survived by two brothers, William of Juniata, Harry of Lakemont Terrace and two sisters, Mrs. Jennie Furry of Roaring Spring and Mrs. Lamburn of New Enterprise.
