Interment in the Barley cemetery. Services were conducted by Rev. H. E. Berkey, pastor of the Lutheran church of Roaring Spring. She was aged 76 years. Mrs. Pressel had been making her home the past year with her son William in Altoona, and was on a visit to relatives at Roaring Spring when death overtook her Tuesday morning of last week, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Frank Ferry. Mrs. Ferry discovered the dead woman when she entered the room to awaken her. An examination was made by Dr. W. H. Robinson and showed that the aged woman had suffered a stroke of paralysis. Mrs. Pressel went to Roaring Spring from Altoona about ten days prior to be with her sister, Mrs. Leah Lamborn, of Lawrence, Neb., who was visiting in the East after eight years absence. She spent the time with her sister, Mrs. George Hengst, of East Main street, Roaring Spring, until Monday when she called on her niece, Mrs. William Ayers. Shortly before noon Monday she walked from the Ayers home to the Ferry home and on Monday night after a pleasant evening, retired about 10 o'clock, apparently feeling better than usual. At 2 o'clock Tuesday morning Mrs. Lamborn visited her bedroom and talked with her, Mrs. Pressel stating that she felt good. Mrs. Pressel suffered from a complication of diseases and although able to be about had been in poor health since May. Prior to her marriage Mrs. Pressel was Miss Klotz and she is the fourth member of the Klotz family to pass away in the past two months, two brothers and one sister preceding her this summer. She was a daughter of David and Mary Catharine Klotz, deceased, and was born near King, Bedford county, May 20, 1842. She resided at home until 1863 when she married Jacob Pressel, also of Bedford county. They began life together on Mr. Pressel's farm and resided there until 1897, when Mr. Pressel died. Following his death her parents resided with her on the farm for several years and then she disposed of the place and since then has made her home with her sons and daughters. She was a lifelong and the oldest member of Barley Lutheran church. She is survived by four sons, Lloyd H. Pressel and William K., of Altoona; Harry of Lakemont, Reuben of New Enterprise; one daughter, Mrs. Jennie Ferry, of Roaring Spring; one brother, John Klotz, of Fishertown; two sisters, Mrs. A. W.
