"Cookie" Price, 98, formerly of Grazierville, died Thursday, May 18, 2006 at the Hollidaysburg Veterans Home. He was born April 25, 1908 in Birmingham, a son of William F. and Annie E. (Myers) Price. On Nov. 11, 1941 in Winchester, VA, he married Pearl Adeline Alice Etters. She died May 12, 2004. Surviving is a son, Karl G. and wife Ida of Tyrone; four grandchildren: Chad Price, Dena Johnston and husband Michael, Michelle Harpster and husband Robert, Torie Haney and husband Brian; six great- grandchildren: Drew, Logan and Hannah Johnston, Jacob and Zachary Harpster, Jenna Haney and daughter-in-law Faye Price of Tyrone. He was the last of his immediate family, preceded in death by a son Kenneth, eight brothers and four sisters. Mr. Price retired in 1971 from PennDOT as highway foreman at Vail following eight years service. He was previously employed at Price's Poultry, Frankstown for many years and was a self-employed contractor in asphalt and concrete sealing. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII, serving as a Private 1st Class with the 1322nd SCU as a truck driver. He was a member of the Howard Gardner American Legion. Cookie enjoyed gardening, farming and his grandchildren. Funeral services with veteran's honors were held Saturday, May 20, 2006 at 5 p.m. at Feller Memorial Home with Rev. Norman E. Huff officiating. Interment was at Blair Memorial Park. Tyrone Daily Herald, May 22, 2006
