Price, 83, of 2 West 11th St., Tyrone and formerly of Philipsburg passed away Thursday, September 4, 2003 at 2:15 a.m. at the Tyrone Hospital. Price was born on May 24, 1920 in Philipsburg to the late Malcolm Reed and Hannah Caroline (Michaels) Price. He was formerly the manager of the Bull Pen in Tyrone and currently employed as the steward of the Tyrone Elks Club. He was a 1938 graduate of Philipsburg High School. He was a Protestant by faith. He was a member of the B.P.O. Elks No. 1173, Philipsburg. He enjoyed playing golf and pool. Price was preceded in death by his parents; one step-son, Jerry Watters; three sisters, Lyma Batchelor, Hazel Shillen and Laura Townsend and six brothers, Irvin, Jay, Samuel, Leo, Reed and Isaac Price. He is survived by step-sons Dennis Watters and Terry Watters of Tyrone. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. He was the last of his generation. A graveside service will be held on Monday, September 8, 2003 at 11 a.m. at Philipsburg Cemetery in Philipsburg with the Reverend William R. Fowler officiating. The place of burial will be Philipsburg Cemetery in Philipsburg. There will be no public visitation. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice. Arrangements are under the direction of the Beezer-Heath Funeral Home, Philipsburg. Tyrone Daily Herald, September 5, 2003
