At 4.40 o'clock yesterday afternoon Mrs. Clara Putz, wife of F. X. Putz, died at her home, 1808 Fourth avenue, of consumption, with which she had been ailing since last May. Her maiden name was Ranelsberger, and she was born in Bavaria, Germany, December 29, 1854. She was married September 21, 1874, and with her husband came to American thirteen years ago and settled in Altoona. She was a member of St. Mary's German Catholic church and was highly esteemed by a large circle of friends. Her one son, F. X. Putz, jr., preceded her to the grave four years ago. Besides her husband she is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Bertha Nothaft, of this city, and two brothers, Joseph and Franz Ranelsberger, in Bavaria. The funeral will take place Wednesday morning, mass to be celebrated in St. Mary's church at 8 o'clock. Interment in St. Mary's cemetery. Morning Tribune, Tuesday, January 9, 1900
