RAISON, widow of Dr. C. L. Raison, a prominent and distinguished Kentuckian, died at 7:30 o’clock this morning at the home of her son, Dr. Louis W. Raison, of 1640 Twentieth avenue, of heart disease. Deceased was born in Greenup county, Ky., and was aged about 80 years. Her husband belonged to the old French nobility, whose sixth grandfather was King Louis XVI. Many years ago the family located on the Island of St. Domingo, where they operated large plantations, until the blacks began massacring the whites, when they boarded one of their boats and come to America and settling in Greenup county. The title, the crest, a boar’s head and the coat of arms, a lion, are matters of record in France. Dr. Raison wears the coat of arms, but prefers to be known simply as an American, although entitled to the title Prince. Mrs. Raison was a Presbyterian. She leaves two sons and one daughter, Dr. L. W. Raison, of Altoona, and Lawyer C. L. Raison, of Newport, Ky., and Mrs. Eve HARTZELL, of North Benton, O. This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.org/pafiles/ File size: 1.6 Kb
