He had not been in good health for the past year or more. Fourteen months ago he was stricken with paralysis which affected his speech. Some time later he sustained another stroke and while he was deprived of speech he was still able to be about and attended to some of his practice. Friday night he was taken ill and on Monday was forced to take his bed. Pneumonia developed a day or two ago and his condition gradually became more serious, death ensuing at an early hour above stated. Dr. Raison was a native of Kentucky, and was born at Ashland May 9, 1853. His parents were a prominent southern family, his father for some years being judge of the county courts. A brother, a prominent attorney of Ashland for years, died three years ago. Dr. Raison was schooled in Kentucky and Ohio. For many years the physician was railroad physician for the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad company at Foxburg. He has been a resident of Altoona for the past fifteen or sixteen years. The physician was twice married, his first wife being Miss Josephine Carr, who died five years ago. Four sons and a daughter born to the union, survive. They are, Charles, of Denver; Roy, of Alma, Mich.; Carr, of Altoona, and Albert, of Pittsburg. A sister, Mrs. Eva Hartzell, lives in Ohio. The second wife was Miss Clarice H. Thompson, of Altoona. She with two small children, Clarice A. and Aeola S., also survive. Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 2:20 o'clock in charge of Rev. H. Miller Herr, of the Christian Alliance church.
