Reed of Buckingham died Friday, November 26, 2004 in Doylestown Hospital at the age of 74. He was the beloved husband of Carmen Shollenberger Reed. They had recently celebrated their 51st anniversary. Born in Altoona, Pa, he was the son of the late Charles Norman and Marie Cisney Reed. For most of his working career Norman was employed as a truck driver and member of the Teamsters. He had driven for North Penn Transfer and retired from the Yellow Freight Co. of Bristol, Pa in 1995. Following that retirement he worked for the Tilley Fire Co. until his recent illness. He served in the US Army Corps of Engineers in Korea during the Korean conflict and later as a member of the PA National Guard. Mr. Reed was a life member of the Doylestown Fire Co. #1, a member and past master of Masonic Lodge #245 F & AM, and the Lahaska United Methodist Church. He had served as a volunteer for the Crossmen Drum & Bugle Corps of Allentown. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, LaFaun Reed of Buckingham and Jeanne Michele Reed of Charlotte, NC; five grandchildren, Louis G. Schultz and his wife Kelly L. of Sellersville, Alan Norman Schultz of Doylestown, Kimberly Michele Schultz, Ashley Marie Schultz and James Arthur Kahn all of Buckingham. A great-grandson, Tristan Alexander Schultz also survives. A funeral service will be held today, Wednesday, December 1, at 8 p.m. at the Reed & Steinbach Funeral Home, 2335 Lower State Rd., Doylestown, Pa. Interment service will be Friday, December 3 at 10 a.m. at Doylestown Cemetery, 215 East Court St. Doylestown, Pa. Contributions in Norman's memory may be made to Doylestown Fire Co. #1, P.O.
