Reed, aged 27 years, son of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Reed of 423 First avenue, and one of three brothers in the service of the United States army, died last night at 9.45 at the Mercy hospital at Pittsburgh from pneumonia, following an attack of influenza. He entered the service of the ordnance corps and enlisted last March, having been located at Pittsburgh since that time. He spent a furlough in this city three weeks ago at the time of the automobile accident at New Portage Junction, when his cousin was killed. He was born in Duncansville and resided in this city practically all his life. Before entering the service he was a telegrapher for the Pennsy in one of the towers near East Altoona. He was only sick a week. Surviving are his parents and two brothers in the army service, H. Baker Reed of Camp Colt, Gettysburg, Pa., and Roland of Ft. Bliss, Tex. The body was brought to this city Saturday evening for interment.
