Mrs. Sarah Reed, wife of George Reed, the woman who was so seriously burned at 12 o'clock on Tuesday night and who was subsequently taken to the hospital, died at twenty-five minutes after 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon. Coroner Glenn was notified and proceeded to the hospital where he empanelled the following jury: D. K. Howe, C. W. Miller, W. W. Trout, James McKee, Jacob Klink and J. Arthur. After viewing the remains and taking testimony, the jury adjourned. The verdict of the coroner's jury on the body of Mrs. Sarah Reed was "that death was caused by her taking fire in some manner unknown to the jury, but we believe it to be her own carelessness from the excessive smoking of a pipe and the use of intoxicants."
