All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/blair/ _________________________________________ Charles Reese Charles Reese, of Tyrone R.D. 3, (Bald Eagle), died in the Philipsburg State Hospital on Monday morning, October 11, 1954, at 4:35 o'clock following a paralytic stroke. He had been ill six weeks. He was born at Port Matilda, December 27, 1879, the son of Christian and Catherine (Williams) Reese. Forty-eight years ago he was married to Mintie Lawton. Surviving are the widow, four sons: Morris, Lynn, Paul and Melvin Reese, all of R.D. 3, Tyrone; four daughters, Mrs. John Wolford, Tyrone; Miss Nellie Reese, Tyrone R. D. 3; Miss Dorothy Reese, a missionary in Canada, and Mrs. Edward Hodge, Raleigh, N.C.; nine grandchildren; six brothers, James and David Reese, Tyrone R. D. 3; Harry and Walter Reese, Idaho; Arthur Reese, Sinking Valley, and LaRoy Reese, Port Matilda; also four sisters, Mrs. Lizzie Acker, Port Matilda; Mrs. Melvin Smith, Mount Union; Mrs. Gertrude Beckwith, Port Matilda, and Mrs. Rhoda Waite, McVeytown. He was a farmer by occupation. Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at Bald Eagle Methodist Church in charge of Reverend William Emert. Burial will be in Bald Eagle cemetery. Friends will be received at the Glass funeral home in Tyrone from 7 to 9 Tuesday and up until the time of the funeral service Wednesday.
