Reid, son of Captain P. S. Reid, formerly of this city, but now of Golden, Jefferson county, Colorado, was killed at Louisville, on the Central Colorado railroad, on the 30th ult. The exact manner of his death is not known. While some shifting was being done at Louisville young Reid, who was employed as a brakeman, was coupling the engine to a coal car, and in performing this duty his death resulted. Some time after his body was found and taken to the home of his distressed parents in Golden. He was only 16 years old; was regarded as a faithful young man, and much respected. He was a nephew of Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Adams, of this city - the latter being a sister of Mrs. Reid. Marked respect was shown to the deceased on the funeral occasion by the closing of the railroad shops and the attendance of a large number of friends of the family from Denver.
