The death of Peter Reilly, who has resided in Altoona ever since it was a town, occurred last evening at 5.20 o'clock at his home, 721 Eighth avenue. He died from a general breaking down of the system. The deceased was born in County Cavan, Ireland, 72 years ago and came to America in 1851. He worked on the Pennsylvania railroad when it was built through Blair county. He afterwards was engaged as a boilermaker by the Pennsylvania railroad company. He was twice married, his first wife's name being Bridget McClain. She died in 1891 and August 3, 1892, Mr. Reilly married Miss Lizzie Hoy, who, with an adopted daughter, Margaret, survives him. He was a member of St. Mark's Catholic church, of St. John's Literary society and of the Pennsylvania Railroad Relief Department. The funeral announcement will be made later.
