Clara Marian (Thompson) Rhoades 

Mrs. Clara Marian [Thompson] Rhoades of 541 Oak Street, Tyrone, Pa., died 
yesterday, 12/15/1967 at 9:45 am in the Philipsburg Hospital; where she had 
been a patient for 5 days. She was born in Thomastown, Tyrone, Pa., on 
8/17/1884, a daughter of Joshuway and Catherine Alice (Monsell) Thompson, and 
on May 15, 1901, in Tyrone, she married Lowery Rhoades [Rhodes], who died 
May 20, 1927. Surviving are nine children: Oscar, Daniel, James, Lowery, Jr. and 
Mrs. Dorothy Jane [Rhoades] McClellan all of Tyrone; George of Altoona, Mrs. 
Phyllis Hazzel [Rhoades] Bonsell, of Decker Hollow, near Tyrone and Mrs. Donna 
Mae [Rhoades] Hoover of Eden Hill, near Tyrone. Twenty seven grandchildren, 24 
great grandchildren, and one great, great grandchild. She was a member of the 
Tyrone Church Of The Brethren. Friends will be received in the Johnson Funeral 
Home, Tyrone, from 2-4 and 7-9 pm tomorrow. Five children preceded her in 
death.
