Rhoades, James E. 

James E. Rhoades of 425 West 16th Street, Tyrone, Pa., died unexpectedly at 
12:55 p.m. on Saturday, April 14, 1979 at the Altoona Hospital. Mr. Rhoades 
retired on disability in 1971 from the Finishing Department of Westvaco 
Corporation, Tyrone, Pa., with 40 years of service. he was born on July 11, 
1916, in Tyrone, the son of Lowery W. and Clara M. (Thompson) Rhoades [Rhodes]; 
and September 21, 1939, in Tyrone, he married Dorothy Marie Beckwith. Surviving 
are his wife and seven brothers and sisters: Oscar B., Daniel L., Lowery Wilt, 
Mrs. Dorothy McClellan, all of Tyrone. Mrs. Phyllis Hazel Bonsell of Decker 
Hollow, George W. Of Altoona, Pa., Mrs. Donna Mae Hoover of Eden Hill, and Mrs. 
Phyllis H. (Rhoades) Bonsell of Decker Hollow [very near Tyrone]... Friends will 
be received in the Derman Funeral Home, Tyrone, from 4-9 p.m. today. Preceded in 
death by his parents and six siblings...
