All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/blair/ _________________________________________ Jean (Burley) Rhoades Jean Burley Rhoades, 69, of 527 West 21st Street Tyrone, died Thursday, April 1, 1993 at 11:27 p.m. at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh, following an extended illness. She was born September 13, 1923, at Tyrone, the daughter of George and Caroline C. (Morrison) Burley and on March 6, 1944, at Trenton, New Jersey, was married to Laurie W. Rhoades who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Stephen B. Rhoades and Timothy W. Rhoades, both of Tyrone, four grandchildren, Matthew Rhoades, Michael Rhoades, Andrew Rhoades and Amy Rhoades. She was preceded in death by a sister. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. She served as treasurer of the Presbyterian Nursery School for a number of years, was a member of Mrs. Meckes' Sunday School Class and was a member of the Howard Gardner Post #281 American Legion Auxiliary. She was serving as Judge of Elections for the 7th ward and had done so for a number of years. She was a 1941 graduate of Tyrone High School and had been employed in the Savings Department of the First Blair County National Bank, retiring in 1986, after 35 years service. Funeral services for Jean Burley Rhoades will be held Monday, April 5, 1993, at 11 a.m. at the Richard H. Searer Funeral Home Inc., with the Reverend Charles J. Swenson officiating. Interment will follow in Eastlawn Cemetery, Tyrone, Pa.
