He was born Oct. 5, 1847, near East Freedom, Pa., where he spent a greater part of his life, later moving to Altoona where he was employed in the boiler shops of the Pennsylvania railroad until his retirement. He is survived by one brother, William, of East Freedom, his wife having died fourteen years ago. He was a member of Christ Reformed church. The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday by his pastor, Rev. Charles D. Hockel? At the Lafferty and Tobias funeral parlors. Interment will be made in Rose Hill cemetery.
