Rhodes, and former resident of Tyrone, died at the Rhodes family home, 510 Twenty-second Avenue, Altoona, this morning at two o'clock, following a two years illness. Death was attributed to cerebral hemorrhage. Mrs. Rhodes was a daughter of William H. and Amanda Jane (Mattern) Flenner and was born at McAlevy's Fort, Huntingdon County, Pa., on August 31, 1876. On July 2, 1896, she was united in marriage with Arnold R. Rhodes. She had been a resident of Altoona for the past 22 years, formerly residing in Tyrone and Bellwood. She is survived by her husband and two daughters, Mrs. Calvin A. (Lillian) Chessman, of Baltimore, Maryland and Mrs. D. Mierly (Anna Gwendolin) Thomas, of Altoona, Pa., also one granddaughter; Lillie Ann Thomas. She is also survived by two sisters and two brothers: Mrs. Bertha F. Lynn, of Berwick; Mrs. P. D. Wilson, of Philadelphia; George S. Flenner and A. Ray Flenner of Tyrone. She was a member of the First Methodist Episcopal Church of Altoona. Funeral services will be held at the home in Altoona on Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, conducted by Reverend Edwin Watkins, followed by burial in Grandview Cemetery, Tyrone, Pa.
