Born at Royer, Williamsburg, R.D. 2, Jan. 30, 1871, he was the son of James and Eveline (Gunnett) Royer, He married Lola Martin, on March 15, 1919. Surviving are his wife, one son Norbert, at home; one foster daughter, Mrs. Donald Anderson of Hollidaysburg; three grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Minnie Sweeney and Mrs. John Horton, both of Royer, and three brothers, Harry, Norman and Harvey, all of Royer. Mr. Rhodes was a member of the Royer Methodist church and served as assistant superintendent of the Sunday school for 30 years. He was a member of Juniata lodge 282, F. and A. M., and the Williamsport consistory. Friends will he received at the home after noon Wednesday. Altoona Mirror, Altoona, Pa., December 14, 1948
